Tema Sistemi SpA has designed, built and certified an innovative zone valve for water mist systems capable of allowing the operation of military ships in both ‘normal’ and ‘combat’ environments.
This innovative zone valve allows the distribution of the water supply to the various sections of the system, even in degraded conditions, through the punctual control of all the valve functions, in compliance with the UMM N ° 05.1.09 regulation.
Zone valve for water mist systems
The valve, made of AISI 316 stainless steel, is positioned between the pumping system and the water distribution network and is able to operate both wet and dry. The particular design confers high flexibility in the operating modes in accordance with the general operating logic of the system.
It can be controlled both manually and electrically remotely at current launch, maintaining the last command status received even in the presence of cable shear or in the absence of power. In fact, the instruments and components suitable for controlling and monitoring the system, both in stand-by and during normal operations, have been integrated in the valve.

In addition to ensuring greater safety, the new configuration also facilitates a lower impact on costs, reduction in number of components installed, along with reduced installation time and improved product reliability requirements.
