Effective as of 1st July 2019, the ARA Group acquired the Australian manufacturing business - Leda Security Products, which specializes in the fabrication of bollards, gates, fences, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) products and bicycle racks.
Their diverse range of products, offerings and services are dedicated to ensuring the protection of people across the building and construction industry, councils, state and federal government, universities and education centers, stadiums and recreation areas, shopping malls, mining industry, public events and open spaces.
Physical security products
For Edward Federman, Executive Chair and Managing Director of the ARA Group, this acquisition represents a significant opportunity for ARA to establish itself as a premier manufacturer of physical security products in Australia and New Zealand.
He said, "Given our already strong presence with the products we currently manufacture, coupled with the capacity and equipment we acquired in May in Melbourne, the Leda acquisition puts the combined ARA Manufacture/Metalbilt/Leda business in quite a formidable position."
Vehicular access control products
David Matthews, Leda’s Founder and Principal Shareholder, was pleased to announce that the sale of the Leda company, which was finalized on 9th August 2019, was successfully negotiated with the ARA Group.
David Matthews said, "I believe (ARA) will be able to expand and grow the Leda brand further. ARA led by its Chairman Edward Federman is a successful Australian owned Group with existing complementary Manufacturing and Security companies, which I am sure will offer various Leda employees with career opportunities."
Mechanical perimeter security
Leda Security Products manufactures, supplies and installs mechanical perimeter security and vehicular access control products across Australia, specializing in 4 core products:
- SecuraPost – All kinds of security bollards, including retractable and removable security bollards, steel and stainless steel bollards.
- High Security and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) – Anti-terrorism equipment and street furniture, including bollards, gates, defenders, road blockers and temporary event security.
- SecuraGate – Manual and automatic electric steel gate systems, versatile perimeter access and security gates.
- SecuraBike – Bicycle storage systems, including bicycle racks, shelters, locks and cages.
Bicycle parking infrastructure
Leda’s main manufacturing plant is located in Tuggerah, NSW, about 90kms north of Sydney, and there are sales and branch offices located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Adelaide and Perth.
Their team has installed over 250,000 security bollards, more than 5,000 security gates and provided bicycle parking infrastructure for over 100,000 bicycles. ARA is pleased to welcome the Leda team to the Group.
