Marc Warren To Go On 150-Mile Bike Ride To Raise Awareness On Importance Of Firefighter/EMS Behavioral Health

On June 17, Marc Warren will complete a one-day, 150-mile bicycle ride through the Great Allegheny Passage to raise awareness about the importance of firefighter/EMS behavioral health. Inspired by his daughter, Ali Rothrock’s work for first responder mental health, Warren is hoping to raise US$ 2,500 to support the NVFC’s Share the Load program.

As a lifelong athlete, Marc Warren is no stranger to physically grueling endeavors. But this time he is using his skills to raise money for a good cause. Motivated by his daughter, Ali Rothrock's work for first responder's mental health, Marc will be embarking on a one-day 150 mile bike ride on the Great Allegheny Passage.

NVFC’s Share the Load program

NVFC’s Share the Load program works to break the stigma around behavioral health issues in the fire service

This passage stretches from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cumberland, Maryland and Marc will be biking to raise money for the National Volunteer Fire Council's Share the Load Hotline. This ride will begin at 5am on June 17th and end 12-15 hours later. Marc will not be using an ebike. The entire ride will be completed under his own power.

The National Volunteer Fire Council’s Share the Load program works to break the stigma around behavioral health issues in the fire service, open up the dialogue in departments, and provide resources that departments and emergency personnel can use to prevent tragedies such as suicides.

This includes the free, confidential Fire/EMS Helpline that first responders and their families can call for help with any behavioral health issue. Marc is grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness, money and challenge himself for such an incredibly important cause.
