Neighbors reported a person inside the home and under extreme conditions

Neighbors reported a person inside the home and under extreme conditions. A firefighter entered the property through a window and unlocked the front door.

One crew entered the home to commence a search, while another crew attacked the fire to stop it advancing up the hallway.

Firefighters quickly located the unresponsive woman in the front room and carried her to safety. They immediately commenced CPR, alongside an off-duty paramedic, until NSW Ambulance arrived.

One woman casualty reported

The woman could not be revived despite the best efforts of emergency services personnel on the scene. The fire escalated, which caused the roof to collapse, forcing firefighters to withdraw from the home and continue battling the blaze from outside.

Two adjoining properties were also under threat but crews managed to protect them, with only one suffering minor heat damage. The fire was extinguished in approximately one hour and investigations are now underway into the cause of the blaze.
