With the current pandemic resulting in the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events, charities all over the UK are struggling and need help more than ever. In a bid to help raise vital funds for local charity The Movement Centre, Aico has joined the UK wide 2.6 Challenge. In place of the London marathon, the 2.6 Challenge commenced on Sunday 26th April 2020 and the challenges can consist of any activity to suit all ages and abilities.

The team at Aico have gotten stuck in with a variety of 2.6 challenges; from completing 26 laps of the Trim Trail at the firm’s HQ, cycling and running miles to danceathons and baking. All challenges incorporate the numbers two and six in varying manners, be it running 26 miles in 2.6 days to cycling the racecourse climb in Oswestry 26 times over the course of 26 days, totaling a climb of 11,000 ft – the height of Mount Everest divided by 2.6.

Every Aico employee has joined in, with some even involving their children in challenges of baking 26 cinnamon swirls and eating them in 2.6 hours, doing 260 lunges or accompanying their parents on part of their cycling challenge. Neal Hooper, Managing Director of Aico comments “We are really pleased to be supporting The Movement Center through the national 2.6 Challenge, colleagues and I are putting ourselves through some entertaining and tough challenges. More than ever we need to pull together to raise as much money as possible for our charities.”
