They rumble and roll down City streets, sidewalks, and bike lanes, but how much do users know about the vehicles and machines operated by the City of Victoria’s public works department?

In honor of 2023 National Public Works Week, the City is releasing its second round of limited-edition fleet trading cards.

five new cards

Supplementing the popular trading card pilot project, five new cards highlight the lifters, diggers, movers, and trimmers that help the City’s public works staff build and maintain the bright, livable city. These cards feature photos, key information, and little-known facts about some of the City vehicles users see in the community every day.

The trading cards showcase five City fleet vehicles – a bucket truck, a carpenter’s crew cab, an electric lawn mower, a backhoe, and the City’s first electric pick-up truck. A limited number of 2023 fleet training cards can be picked up from City Hall.

National Public Works Week

National Public Works Week is taking place across North America from May 21-27 this year. The week-long event celebrates the contributions of public works in planning, building, and managing the everyday operations at the core of local communities.

There are over 300 employees in the City of Victoria’s Public Works Division.
