With the purchase of three plots of land totaling 20,000 m2 east of the headquarters on Sædding Ringvej, VIKING has emphasized that it sees its future development and growth in Esbjerg.
"The acquisition is part of the long-term strategy to secure the future of VIKING in Esbjerg," says Henrik Uhd Christensen, CEO of VIKING, adding "VIKING wants to be able to continue its growth globally, based on the local headquarters on Sædding Ringvej. With the land purchase, we are not limited by the physical framework in our long-term development."
Thinking long term
Since 1965, VIKING has had an address on Sædding Ringvej. It has expanded here several times, most recently adding a larger leasehold on Håndværkervej 4 to secure the necessary space.
VIKING has no current plans for future expansions, but it has just begun work on mapping the company's long-term needs for expansions within the areas of office, production, and warehouse, as well as service and test facilities.

"VIKING has continuously acquired areas in the surrounding area to secure the necessary space as the company expands and creates more jobs in the city," says Henrik Uhd Christensen.
He adds, "We are an Esbjerg company and want to maintain our domicile in Esbjerg and on Sædding Ringvej. The newly acquired areas support this long-term goal. We have no current building plans. The acquisition of the land is part of a long-term strategy for a presence in Esbjerg and thus securing the possibility of expanding where we have our headquarters if the need arises."
Developing the area
The acquired area is located east of VIKING towards Sædding Ringvej, Nordre Fovrfeldvej, and Lindholmvej. VIKING has purchased the land from Gunnar Gregersen A/S after a constructive process.
The takeover date for the properties is September 30, 2023. The change in ownership does not affect the current tenants in the area: "We want to maintain the good neighborhood we have, and the change in ownership will not immediately affect the current leases and agreements," points out Henrik Uhd Christensen.
