The world's largest firefighter training and expo once again take over Indianapolis this April, and Toyne will be returning to showcase its latest apparatus and fire industry expertise. The 2018 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) takes place from April 23–28 in the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. Toyne's booth will house two of the Iowa-based fire apparatus manufacturer's most recent trucks, including a pumper and an aerial.

Showcasing Signature Fire Apparatus

Prior to its delivery to Syracuse, New York, Toyne will be displaying the Lyncourt Fire Department's new aerial at FDIC. The apparatus was built to meet the specific needs of the department and is Lyncourt's second Toyne engine after it purchased a pumper in 2014. This Toyne Aerial includes a 110-foot, rear-mount LTC steel ladder with a 750-pound tip load, along with the added technology of an intercom system and an Akron 3480 StreamMaster II monitor. The new aerial also boasts the firefighting power of a Hale Qmax-XS pump, which draws from a 500-gallon UPF tank and can output 2,000 gallons of water per minute.

This apparatus is made strong, with the ability to tackle tough fires

Toyne is also bringing a pumper demo to the conference, showcasing one of its signature apparatus to the industry. This Toyne Pumper includes a 1000-gallon UPF tank, with the power of a Hale Qmax 1,500-gallons-per-minute, side-mount pump. Built on a 2018 Spartan Metro Star EMFD chassis with a 10-inch raised roof, this apparatus is made strong, with the ability to tackle tough fires. It also includes a 25-gallon Class A foam system that adds to the engine's firefighting versatility.

Versatile and Durable

"We are proud of the apparatus we build, and are looking forward to showing this pumper and aerial to the fire industry professionals at FDIC," said Michael Schwabe, president, and CEO of Toyne, Inc. “Fire departments across the country rely on us to build durable, versatile apparatus, and these are two examples that show why Toyne has come to stand for quality."

FDIC includes six days of firefighting workshops, displays, and demonstrations, with attendees coming from all over the country and world. Toyne's apparatus will be featured in booth 3057 inside the Indiana Convention Center, with several representatives on hand to meet with visitors.
