Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is currently managing a significant fire outbreak in a multi-story building located in Surry Hills, close to the Sydney central business district (CBD).
This immediate emergency response was triggered by numerous Triple Zero (000) alert calls reporting flames overtaking the seven-story structure on Randle Street shortly after 4 p.m.
Intensive Firefighting Efforts
Campaigning to manage the escalating blaze, over 100 firefighters from FRNSW have been deployed, utilizing 20 fire trucks from various stations. These fire crews are actively engaged in efforts to control and extinguish the fire.
As the building shows signs of structural collapse, the flames are aggressively spreading to adjacent buildings, threatening residential areas in its path.
Public Safety Advisory
The surrounding area has seen destruction, including at least one vehicle succumbing to the flames. Authorities strongly advise the public to steer clear of the vicinity as firefighting operations are expected to continue for some time.
The focus remains on containing the fire to prevent further damage to the nearby infrastructure.
