At approximately 5:20 pm, CFS crews were alerted to a shed fire on Rachel Circuit in Nairne. 28 CFS Volunteers on Five trucks supported by SAAS and SAPOL attended the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found the carport fully alight. It took firefighters approximately 40 minutes to extinguish the fire.

Unfortunately, the fire spread to the single-story house, causing significant damage.
The occupants were able to evacuate the property safely and were being treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. Damage is estimated at $500,000, with the cause yet to be determined. Fire Cause Investigators will attend to the scene the next morning.
