In June 2018 International Firex 2018 was held at ExCel, London, UK. Marketed as one of Europe’s foremost Fire Safety events, sponsored by the Fire Industries Association (FIA), recently attracted more than 18,000 visitors and 129 exhibitors from 29 countries.

After a break from exhibiting at Firex for 3 years, Ampac Cranford signed up for a combined booth for the year’s event and in a departure from previous years displayed no product on the stand at all.

New Design Concept

Ampac and Cranford stand comprised two large monitors continuously running separate corporate videos Working with the exhibition stand manufacturers Isoframe and local graphics design studio Barefoot Graphics the Ampac and Cranford stand comprised two large monitors continuously running separate corporate videos and three large touch screen monitors with adaptations of a complete range of sales leaflets and datasheets for one-to-one presentation to interested visitors.

The new design concept was a great success providing a clean, uncluttered look to a small floor area and with minimal high-level seating, the stand had an open, busy, and energetic feel.

Visitors felt encouraged to wander on to the stand and with each of the sales staff supported by a mobile tablet with the same touch screen data loaded no visitor was left unattended or waiting.

Star Of The Show

After a disappointing experience when Firex first moved to London from Birmingham it was noticeable at this year’s event how much constant activity there was from new and existing customers at the Ampac & Cranford booth compared to other exhibitors.

The star of the show this year for the Ampac Group was the early preview of the New Loop Addressable Door Retainer. Soon to be available in 200n & 500N this a joint development between Cranford Controls, Stephenson Gobin, and with technical input and support from Apollo Fire Detectors.

Apollo Fire Detectors Features

  • Fully addressable—Apollo XP95 & Discovery protocols
  • Patented permanent magnet technology
  • Constant low current consumption

Addition-To Intelligent Interfaces

The new addressable door retainer products will deliver significant installation savings, unlimited opportunities to operate individual or groups of fire doors, and complete control over fire evacuations. A notable addition to the range of Ampac Intelligent Interfaces.
