Everyone is going through this strange time together and it is important, now more than ever, that everyone come together and look out for one another. It is in a fire fighter’s first nature to protect those around them and spring into action when they are needed, but who is protecting them? Is it common knowledge that it's possible to infect others with the Coronavirus without showing symptoms oneself? It's a fact. One can infect others before they even realize that they are infected.

Must do their part

So one must do their part to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and wear a cloth face mask to protect those they come in contact with, including their family, friends, community at large, and their first responders that are in the trenches every day. "Do it for yourself, do it for each other," a post on the San Diego City Firefighters, Local 145 Instagram page encourages. "We [fire fighters] do our best to protect you, help protect us."

There have been many firefighter deaths around the county due to COVDI-19 exposure in the line-of-duty.
