As winter nears, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is set to collaborate with Nickelodeon and Spin Master Entertainment's renowned preschool series PAW Patrol at the Emergency Services Academy in Orchard Hills on Saturday, May 13 from 10 am to 2 pm. This event is part of the annual FRNSW Open Day, offering families the chance to visit their local fire stations, engage with firefighters, and explore the fire station facilities.
PAW Patrol Joins the Firefighters
Marshall and Chase, two of PAW Patrol's beloved rescue pups, will join FRNSW Commissioner Paul Baxter on Saturday, marking a special attraction for the state-wide Open Day. These costume characters will spend time with families at the Academy, helping to inspect fire trucks, observe firefighting demonstrations, and share important fire safety messages.

Commissioner Baxter also emphasized the importance of "Sounding the Alarm" during Open Day, focusing on ensuring the functionality of home smoke alarms. “Each year, approximately 20 people die in NSW from fires that could have been prevented,” he noted. Open Day not only encourages dialogue between residents and firefighters on safety measures leading into winter but also provides an opportunity to schedule free home safety visits from local stations.
