At the event, Cygnus will be celebrating the two-year milestone of SmartNet, their groundbreaking wireless fire detection and alarm system, achieving EN 54 certification. Visitors can explore this innovative solution at stand M50.
SmartNet Fire Detection System
The SmartNet system distinguishes itself as the first fully EN 54 certified and entirely wireless fire detection and alarm system, also compliant with BS5839-1 standards.
A key advantage of SmartNet is its installation speed, which is up to twenty times faster than traditional wired systems, minimizing disruption to building operations and occupants.

The technology behind SmartNet relies on a network of radio devices, operating through a self-forming, self-healing wireless mesh network. This patented system ensures reliability with multipath network redundancy, leveraging channel-hopping technology.

SmartNet-Pro and SmartNet-100 Solutions
SmartNet-Pro provides a scalable option for larger applications, linking up to 511 devices per panel, across 96 zones, with network capabilities extending to five panels, collectively supporting over 2500 devices.
For smaller applications, SmartNet-100 offers the same core benefits in a more economical package, supporting up to 100 devices.
Cygnus Accessories and Tools
During the event, the Cygnus team will present the range of Cygnus Accessories. Among these is the Cygnus Configuration Software Tool and Mesh Analyser, designed to streamline system setup with complete visibility of radio communication, signal integrity, and diagnostics. The tool enables efficient commissioning and installation processes.
Further enhancing the system deployment is the Portable Programming Unit (PPU), which facilitates wireless firmware and configuration updates directly on-site, thus expediting the process especially in challenging locations. Finally, the Site Survey Kit assists in planning by deploying three tailored detectors that emulate the mesh network, securing system suitability for specific environments.

SmartNet-Pro offers a scalable solution with the capability for each panel to connect 511 devices and up to 96 zones, with networking of up to 5 panels, providing a combined solution of over 2500 devices.
Whilst SmartNet-Pro caters to the larger scales of application, SmartNet-100 provides all the key benefits of SmartNet-Pro in a more cost-effective solution, designed to support a maximum of 100 devices. Based on this nature, SmartNet-100 is best suited for small to medium sized applications where the scalability of the SmartNet-Pro is not required.
The Cygnus team will also be on hand at the event to talk through the Cygnus Accessories range, which includes:
