Hannay Reels Announces Replacing Bolted With Riveted Construction On Hose And Cable Reels
Hannay Reels Announces Replacing Bolted With Riveted Construction On Hose And Cable Reels

While many of the larger reel models have featured riveted construction for years, Hannay announces that they have now replaced bolted construction on a smaller (trapezoidal frame style) hose and cable reels with riveted construction as well. This change is universal for all hose reel and cable reel models using this style of frame. Specifically, the new small frame design uses 12 self-piercing (zero-clearance) rivets per assembly, resulting in an extraordinarily strong, durable reel that eliminates any potential racking movement between the frame components. In the time since this construction change has gone into effect early in the year, Hannay has been gratified by the positive feedback and reports back from the field.

Hannay Reels Announces Split Bronze Bearing Insert Will Be Part Of All 1-½” Series Reels

A new split bronze bearing insert (part # 9902-1710) is now standard for all 1-½” series reels, which includes reel models across several industries and applications such as LP Gas, Petroleum, Aviation, Industrial and Fire. The advantage of a split bearing on a reel is that if the bearing ever needs to be replaced, one will no longer have to remove the swivel joint as part of the task. Total replacement time can typically be cut to under five minutes, a reduction of 75% or more. The new two-piece split bearings are available as replacement parts as well.
