The world’s first fully electric drive fire truck touring California. Rosenbauer, the fire apparatus manufacturer is demoing the EFT truck for fire departments in the state through December starting with Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The EFT provides a look into the future of the fire apparatus Rosenbauer’s development engineers have focused on creating the vehicle architecture that emerges during the design process when a systematic and uncompromising emphasis is placed on the demands that the fire services, will face in years to come.

“Since 1866 Rosenbauer has been the world’s leading fire apparatus technology company the EFT is evidence the company is still years ahead of the industry in research and design,” said John Slawson, CEO, and President of Rosenbauer America.
Rosenbauer began the development of a zero-emission concept fire truck in 2011 to meet more stringent environmental protections. The current version of the EFT has a fully electric drive system and a range extender.
“We’re visiting progressively minded departments who are interested in having a sustainable, zero-emission fleet” according to Slawson.
