HAIX® North America conducted a wear test with law enforcement professionals throughout the United States and Canada. When the call went out for participants, nearly 8,000 respondents applied for the chance to test a pair of Black Eagle Tactical boots of their choice. 1,000 participants were chosen to wear test either the Black Eagle® Tactical GTX High Side Zip or the Black Eagle® Tactical 2.0 FL boots.
65% of wear-testers chose the Side Zip boot while 35% chose the Tactical FL boot. Wear testers were to wear the law enforcement boots on the job, testing the boots in multiple scenarios, and then provide their feedback. The survey included questions that focused on items such as comfort, quality, weight, and slip resistance.
As evidenced by the survey responses, both Black Eagle®'s boots received high marks for overall comfort. An important consideration when law enforcement professionals, in particular, subject their feet to too long hours on the job which can include standing, walking, and even running.
Lightweight design
The boot models received excellent marks regarding their lightweight design and slip-resistant properties
One tester commented that the boots “Feel like a pair of running shoes until you look down and realize you’re wearing boots.” Both lightweight boot models received excellent marks regarding their lightweight design and some of the highest marks for their slip-resistant properties. Another tester commented, “Been to car accidents while wearing these. I have stepped in oil, trans fluid, and water. No issues AT ALL…”
Durability
To be able to hold the footing from wet outdoor surfaces to hard surfaces indoors can be of utmost importance in law enforcement. Wear testers also praised the durability and the quality construction of the boots.
As one tester said “Best boots I have ever worn. 4 years active-duty military, 13 years State Police”. One of the tested police tactical boots, the Black Eagle® Tactical 2.0 FL, features a CROSSTECH® inner liner to protect from blood, chemical, and body fluids. When surveyed, the vast majority considered that to be an extremely important added benefit, which some considered to be one of its top features.
