A Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) team has come to the aid of two drivers and three dogs following an accident involving two vehicles near Kew on the state's north coast.
The collision, which occurred shortly after 7:30 am on the Pacific Highway at Herons Creek, involved a car towing a large trailer and a dual-cab utility vehicle, resulting in the blockage of all northbound lanes.
Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts
A nearby resident heard the crash and contacted Triple Zero (000). Promptly responding to the scene, the FRNSW crew from Laurieton helped both drivers who were then assisted by the ambulance team.
The responders also successfully retrieved three out of four dogs from the wreckage, including two Staffordshire Bull Terriers and a Pomeranian.

Efforts to find the fourth dog are ongoing. Despite utilizing thermal imaging equipment to search the surrounding bushland, FRNSW has not yet located the missing pet, which fled the scene.
