As the UK fire door industry counts down to 2029 and the removal of BS 476-22 for fire performance of doors, Mann McGowan has launched Pyroglaze Compression, a compressible graphite intumescent seal suitable for use in glazed apertures that has been proven to meet and exceed the more onerous EN1634-1 standards. Available for both thirty and sixty minute applications, Pyroglaze Compression offers up to 2mm compression per side of glass, allowing accommodation of tolerances between door, bead, and thickness of glass. In the event of fire, the intumescent swells to provide an effective seal within the glazing pocket and reduces the risk of premature ignition of the glazing beads on the protected face.
