Two people have been rescued after a gyrocopter crash off Marmong Point at Lake Macquarie. The amphibious aircraft was skimming the water, attempting to take off, when it overturned, almost 500 meters offshore, just before 10.30 am. Two people on board the submerged aircraft scrambled onto nearby boats. They’ve been assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics and are uninjured. The aircraft has been towed to a local marina for further investigation.
