Upon arrival, heavy fire and smoke were showing through the roof of the two-story apartment building. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and hots spots, with no extension to an adjacent structure. A total of 15 units responded to the location.

The deceased victim was discovered inside a first-floor unit. A second occupant who escaped from the structure before AFRD's arrival was treated for smoke inhalation. AFRD's Fire Investigators responded to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.
