Event Overview:

NCT Asia Pacific 2017 - Bringing together CBRNe actors from the Asia Pacific region

NCT Asia Pacific 2017 is coming back to Seoul for its second edition. Taking place in Seoul from May 16-18, 2017, at the Imperial Palace, the event will kick-start with a live capability demonstration on the first day, followed by a two-day conference and exhibition which will bring together leading stakeholders from the ROK Army, CBRNe first responders, government representatives, and ground-breaking research institutes. NCT Asia Pacific will provide updates on CBRNe emergency preparedness and response approaches at various levels. The involvement of first response actors and military stakeholders will provide useful perspectives for all attendees against the background of existing CBRNe threat environments.

NCT Asia Pacific will be organised in official partnership with the Korean BioDefense Research Institute (BDRI) and will include a vibrant exhibition, showcasing state of the art products and equipment from CBRNe detection to decontamination and protection. Topics that will be discussed during the conference will range from ‘Radiological and Nuclear Threats: From Prevention to Recovery’ to ‘Protecting High-Visibility Events against CBRNe Threats’ and ‘CBRNe Terrorist attacks in the Asia-Pacific’. Keynote speakers include Brig. Gen. Yoo Bong Heo, Commander of the ROK Army CBRN Defence Command, Brig. Gen. Moon Sung-joon, Commander of the ROK Army CBRN School, Dr. Ronald Hann, Director of the Chemical and Biological Technologies Department at USA’s Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), as well as Dr. Prof. Nam Taek Lee, Deputy Director of the Korean BioDefense Research Institute.
