Darley Names Jim Johnson To Fire Advisory Board

Darley, a globally renowned provider of defense, fire, and emergency services equipment, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Johnson to its Fire Advisory Board. Jim Johnson brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise in serving the fire industry. Jim Johnson served as President of Pierce Manufacturing from 2010 to 2023. He also served as an Executive Vice President of Oshkosh Corporation and President of Oshkosh's Fire & Emergency business segment with responsibility for the Frontline, Maximetal and Oshkosh Airport Products brands in addition to Pierce.  Prior roles of Jim Johnson Most recently, Jim Johnson served as the President of the company's Vocational business segment with the added responsibility for Oshkosh’s refuse vehicles, airport ground support equipment, utility and concrete truck brands in addition to his Fire & Emergency responsibilities before retiring in 2024. This next-generation command vehicle, delivered through Frontline Communications and Pierce Manufacturing dealer Fire and Safety Services, marks a significant milestone in Hunterdon County’s emergency response capabilities and will be prominently displayed at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana, in Pierce Manufacturing’s booth #5337. New mobile command vehicle The new mobile command vehicle is tailored to support emergency management, on-scene operations Designed as a county-wide asset, the new mobile command vehicle is tailored to support emergency management, on-scene operations, SWAT teams, and major disaster response.  The unit enhances communication capabilities, providing a mobile dispatch center that supports the workload of Hunterdon County’s communications division during high-demand incidents. Effective emergency response services “This Mobile Command Vehicle is a game-changer for Hunterdon County,” said Brayden Fahey, Public Safety Director/County OEM Coordinator with Hunterdon County Department of Public Safety. “The technology upgrades, additional space, and overall versatility will allow us to provide more efficient and effective emergency response services." Surveillance and visibility: A Will-Burt Night Scan Light Tower mounted on the roof and a 42’ heavy-duty mast system with IC Realtime HD PTZ camera for extended visibility and intelligence gathering at the rear of the apparatus. Powerful and efficient operation: A Harrison Hydraulic 25 kW generator ensuring reliability in the most demanding environments. Comfort and efficiency: A 20’ 12VDC electric awning for exterior operations and field coordination. Level of service across widespread emergencies Replacing a 24-year-old command unit that previously responded to major incidents—including 9/11 incident response—this new vehicle represents a significant upgrade for the Hunterdon County Department of Public Safety. The unit provides first responders with increased space, versatility, and a higher level of service across widespread emergencies such as natural disasters, multi-agency responses, and tactical law enforcement operations. New Mobile Command Vehicle For Loudoun County Sheriff

Frontline Communications, a division of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation business, announced the delivery of a C-40X-2 mobile command vehicle to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. The vehicle was featured at the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Conference in Oklahoma, showcasing its state-of-the-art options and upgrades, making it an essential asset for the Sheriff's Office. New mobile command vehicle Sold through Frontline Communications dealer Atlantic Emergency Solutions, the new mobile command vehicle is built on a Peterbilt 548 chassis and measures 38’ 8” in length and 12’ 6” in height. It includes two slide-outs and a 20kW generator, providing ample power for its extensive features. The vehicle is equipped with two entrances, a spacious rear interview room/workstation area, and a forward conference room with seating for eight, ensuring a versatile and functional environment for various operations.
