Comelit-PAC has supplied its LogiFire wireless, addressable multi-panel fire alarm system at Augean’s Kirkby site, installed and commissioned by Centurion Fire & Security to ensure full regulatory compliance. The facility, operated by the major waste treatment specialist, required a robust fire safety system for complete coverage, local and remote monitoring and minimal disruption to operations. Together, Comelit-PAC and Centurion Fire & Security designed and implemented the system to meet the highest category of fire protection under BS 5839-1:2017. The wireless technology enabled a faster installation with minimal disruption, while still ensuring reliability and offering scalability for future site development. Installation process Emma Smith, Site Manager at Augean, said: “Great service from Centurion, the installation guys always worked efficiently and professionally. We’re pleased with the Comelit-PAC products installed and would be happy to recommend, especially the wireless aspect that have made a real difference in our fire safety set-up.” Thermal CCTV cameras installed Thermal CCTV cameras were positioned across external areas, combining perimeter security with early fire-risk detection and external manual call points and sounder VADs were installed to ensure rapid and clear emergency alerts. Both systems were integrated into a centralized platform, giving Augean the flexibility to manage the solution at any time, from any location, with total visibility across its operations. This dual protection has strengthened site safety and streamlined management processes. Liverpool Waters is one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects, transforming the city’s historic docks into a vibrant mixed-use waterfront. Romal’s phase 4 Aquitania, marks a key phase in Liverpool Waters transformation, combining striking architecture with robust life safety systems for its 135 high-specification apartments and townhouses. From the initial design stage, we worked with Comelit-PAC to ensure the fire system would meet legislation alongside the expectations of a smart, stylish development." We’re already planning to extend the works into our phase four, Mauretania.” Integration with automatic opening vents Working in partnership with specialist contractor Merselec Ltd, the bespoke system spans all escape and circulation areas and uses programmed cause-and-effect logic to coordinate fire detection, smoke extraction, and lift management. This ensures the building responds as a single, intelligent network in the event of an emergency. A standout feature is the integration with automatic opening vents (AOVs). These activate immediately during smoke control events, whilst maintaining a lockout feature for managing airflow and directing smoke away from escape routes to aid safe evacuation. The system also connects directly with lift controls to ensure safe operation and avoid use during an incident. Comelit-PAC cloud-based remote monitoring Jon Wilcock of Merselec Ltd added: “The integration requirements and performance standards made this a technically demanding project. Our close collaboration with Comelit-PAC allowed us to deliver a robust system that performs reliably in a live residential environment and could be installed to blend with its luxury surroundings.” To support day-to-day management, Comelit-PAC incorporated cloud-based remote monitoring. This gives building managers real-time status updates and instant alerts, enabling swift incident response and preventative maintenance. Comelit-PAC has worked with Centurion Fire & Security Ltd to install Logfire’s wireless solution at Guardian House, forming part of an initiative by the Inspired Neighborhoods to develop the listed building for community and economic regeneration. Guardian House, a listed building with a rich history as the former Bradford City Registry Office, had been unused and at risk of dilapidation. It is being refurbished to create modern offices and community space.
