The countdown to The Tall Ships Races 2025 has officially begun. On 6 August, the impressive fleet of traditional sailing ships will visit Esbjerg for the sixth time, and this year sees a new main sponsor come on board.
VIKING Joins as Main Sponsor
The agreement ensures that Esbjerg can once again experience one of Europe’s largest maritime festivalEsbjerg’s mayor, Jesper Frost Rasmussen, and VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s CEO, Henrik Helsinghof, met today to sign the agreement that cements the company’s role as the main sponsor of The Tall Ships Races 2025.
The agreement ensures that Esbjerg can once again experience one of Europe’s largest maritime festivals, which has previously attracted over half a million visitors to the city’s harbour.
“The Tall Ships Races event means something very special to Esbjerg. It is a tribute to the city’s maritime heritage, while also inspiring 150 young trainees to sail along and get a taste of life at sea. This experience may later play a crucial role in encouraging them to pursue a maritime education. In this context, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment fits in perfectly, and we are very pleased to have the company on board for next year’s event,” says Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen.
VIKING's Commitment to Maritime Safety

In 2022, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment and Esbjerg Municipality used the event to mark a groundbreaking climate partnership to reduce CO2 emissions. “VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has deep roots in Esbjerg and more than 60 years of experience in safeguarding lives at sea. Both aspects are reflected in what The Tall Ships Races event has evolved into here in Esbjerg."

As the main sponsor, VIKING will be a visible part of The Tall Ships Races, and visitors can once again look forward to experiencing the company’s innovative solutions in maritime safety in a demonstration and information area.
VIKING will showcase their latest life-saving equipment and technology that set the standard for safety at sea. The Tall Ships Races event is organised by Sail Training International, while the partnership between Port Esbjerg and Esbjerg Municipality brings the event to Esbjerg.
