KME wins contract to provide rescue trucks for US Air Force

KME Fire Apparatus is pleased to announce that it will be manufacturing 21 medium rescue trucks for Defense Supply Center Philadelphia. The units will be shipped to air bases across the nation. KME was awarded the RFQ as the best overall value supplier.

The rescue bodies will be mounted on a 4x4 crew cab chassis. Features will include: a KME 3/16" aluminum walk around rescue body, 12,000lb winch, PTO driven generator, and vertical mast light tower.

According to KME President and CEO John Kovatch III: "Rescue Trucks are just one area in which KME excels. Our custom formed body design and extensive experience in fire service and military applications will aid us in delivering a superior vehicle to our military."

Delivery of the units should begin in the fall of 2009.
