The Organising Committee of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Fincantieri as the Diamond Sponsor for DIMDEX 2016, to be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre from 29 to 31 March. This year's edition of DIMDEX, the fifth, will be held under the patronage of His Highness, The Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Al-Kuwari, Chairman of DIMDEX, said, “The strength of our partnership with Fincantieri is reflected in their continued commitment to DIMDEX as one of our most prominent returning exhibitors. New DIMDEX Diamond Sponsor Fincantieri is a prime contractor with a complete product portfolio, including surface combatant ships such as corvettes and frigates, auxiliary and special vessels and submarines.

Specialised maritime naval defence and security exhibition in MENA region
DIMDEX 2016 is set to be the largest specialised maritime naval defence and security exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Several new countries will be partaking this year as well as new exhibitors demonstrating the latest technologies. DIMDEX 2016 also sees an expansion in the event's scope to cover new sectors such as maritime aviation, naval base security, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), maritime patrol aircrafts and coastal surveillance systems.
