Government Mandates The Installation Of Sprinklers In High Rise Housing Blocks Over 11 Meters

The UK government announced further changes to the Building and Fire Safety Standards in England following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire. The changes include automatic fire sprinklers in high rise housing blocks over 11 meters, together with a raft of other fire safety measures. This marks some considerable success for BAFSA who have campaigned for automatic fire sprinklers in all high rise housing for the last fifteen years.

Crews were called to a five pump fire on the 25th floor of a four roomed flat of a 39 story high rise residential block in Southwark Bridge Road.
