The forum will feature several panel discussions, group tasks, round table discussions and insightful case studies on cyber security, emergency response and recovery, enterprise risk management and integration of health, safety, and environment with business continuity
The forum will bring together top business continuity and emergency response management leaders

The world today is an interconnected, global economy, where virtually every aspect of an organisation's operation is vulnerable to disruption, and the risk and cost of disruption may extend well beyond mere financial. Business Continuity Management and Emergency Response have become increasingly critical areas of competence for organisations in private as well as public sectors. Recent history has shown that no organisation is immune to the threat of the external terrorist or the internal saboteur or the mismanagement or inappropriate stewardship of an organisation's resources and reputation.

Emergency management and business continuity planning

The approach of typical business organisations to emergency management and business continuity planning has been too narrowly focused and fragmented. Most business leaders do not fully comprehend and appreciate the inter-dependence and need for collaboration between government agencies and emergency management organisations. It has now become imperative for organisations to develop an analysed and balanced approach to emergency and business continuity management.

The Business Continuity & Emergency Response ME Forum 2017 will identify, examine, and integrate the diverse emergency management, crisis management, contingency planning and business continuity issues facing a private sector organisation in its internal operations and interface with the government agencies and emergency management communities. The forum will bring together top business continuity and emergency response management leaders who will shed light on skills, knowledge elements and concepts applied in the context of the protecting and continuing the organisational life cycle in the face of unforeseen disruptions.

Cyber security and enterprise risk management

Supported by Information Technology Authority (Sultanate of Oman), this forum has dedicated its agenda in alignment and support of BCI - Business Continuity Awareness Week, in Oman. The forum will commence with a per-conference workshop titled 'The BCI embedding business continuity course' by Tim Marjason, Owner and MD of Marjason Consulting DWC LLC, Business Continuity and Crisis Management Subject Matter Expert and a BCI approved instructor.

Marjason Consulting (Knowledge Partner of this event) is a Licensed Training Partner with the BCI and the workshop participants will be awarded an official certificate of attendance from the BCI, on completion of this workshop.

Taking place on the 16th and 17th of May 2017 at Muscat, Oman, the forum will feature several panel discussions, group tasks, round table discussions and insightful case studies on cyber security, emergency response and recovery, enterprise risk management, and integration of health, safety, and environment with business continuity.
