Vds invites international companies, experts and operators to a cross-border exchange

VdS, Europe´s leading institute for safety and security, invites international companies, experts and operators to a cross-border exchange on 18-19 September in Kiev. Experts from all over Europe will discuss current issues and transnational safety solutions.

20,000 people die every year in the USA and Russia alone as a result of fire. French fire brigades are called out to more than four million incidents a year, while the total economic losses due to fire damage in Germany amount to € 6 billion per annum. These gloomy figures demonstrate the importance of a cross-border exchange between all firefighting parties.

With its international conference "Fire Protection Systems", VdS, Europe’s top institute for fire protection, offers a platform that has been proving its worth in the industry for many years. Multinational experts will come together on 18-19 September to present the latest advances in research as well as practical solutions. This year’s event will be held in Kiev, Ukraine.

“We are delighted to welcome speakers from organisations such as Siemens, Minimax and the Ukrainian government. These experts will explain new systems and developments and compare different Euro-pean standards for water extinguishing systems”, states conference director Jörg Wilms-Vahrenhorst, deputy CEO at VdS. “The interna-tional specialists will also cover topics such as the advantages and disadvantages of various extinguishing mechanisms and fire detec-tion technologies, thereby opening up new perspectives.”

The conference will be held in English and Russian with simultane-ous interpreting. As is customary at VdS events, there will also be a trade exhibition with well-known companies and, as usual, the eve-ning event will provide plenty of opportunity for discussion.
