Pierhead Housing has been providing good quality homes for people in real housing need across Merseyside since 1971.
To provide a fully addressable 2 loop fire alarm system in substantial sheltered accommodation unit consisting of 31 flats and common areas. The system was to be designed, installed, and commissioned to Category Type L1 - BS5839:2005.
The Process
The client contacted the company very early in the conception stage of the project and asked to design a bespoke fire alarm system for an existing building in the portfolio.
As they currently carried out the routine maintenance and call out for this building, they were ideally suited to provide a timely and compressive design issuing the specifications for tender.
Seamless Integration
McGoff & Vickers successfully quoted for the work in competition and in close liaison with the customer began the installation, which had to take into account the diverse needs of the residents, mainly elderly to co-ordinate the cabling and installation with the minimum disruption.
Resident-Centric Approach
“The members of McGoff & Vickers team were second to none in their approach to the project and the consideration the showed the residents was greatly appreciated.” said Sue Taylor, Warden Chestnut Court.
