Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used hydraulic tools to cut a driver free from the wreckage of a single truck crash, west of Port Macquarie, on the state's mid-north coast.
A semi-trailer, carrying frozen goods, left the road and collided with a tree on the Oxley Highway, just after 5 am now. The impact trapped the truck driver inside his vehicle for three hours.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) crews
Once freed, the driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on-scene. The NSW State Emergency Service and NSW Rural Fire Service were both in attendance providing assistance. Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) crews also attended the incident.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire, or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
