FFE is bringing the latest in wide-area smoke and flame detection to the NFPA Conference and Expo. Held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre in Las Vegas from June 13-16, the NFPA is widely regarded as the premier event for fire and life safety. FEE is at booth 1153.
Fireray 5000 motorised, auto-aligning optical beam smoke detector
On display at NFPA Expo will be the Fireray 5000 motorised, auto-aligning optical beam smoke detector, which is ideally suited to large interiors with high ceilings, enabling coverage of a large area at minimal cost. The Fireray 5000 combines an infrared transmitter and receiver in the same unit and operates by projecting a well-defined beam to a reflective prism, which returns the beam to the receiver for analysis.
New Light Cancelation Technology for Fireray 3000 beam smoke detectors
The company will also be showing its innovative new Light Cancelation Technology (LCT) for its Fireray 3000 end-to-end optical beam smoke detectors. The LCT works by actively monitoring ambient light levels on the detector and ‘subtracting’ them away from the ‘real’ signal. This allows the detector to work under the most difficult light conditions, including sunlight, sodium lamps and fluorescent lighting.
Talentum UV/Dual IR flame detectors
Finally, a little bit of Bloodhound technology will be on show, with FFE is showing its Talentum UV/Dual IR flame detectors – the same flame detectors being used in the Bloodhound supersonic car, which is aiming for a world land speed record in the coming years. By utilising infra-red (IR) sensing technology, Talentum UV/Dual detectors can detect visible and invisible flames from any source, irrespective of any dust, steam, dirt or smoke present, and are immune to the effects of wind or draughts. They can also detect a flame through glass. They give the highest immunity to false flame sources.
