Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue wins World Extrication Challenge with assistance from Vimpex

Realistic crash situations were created with vehicles and casualties. The teams had to rescue the trapped casualties safely and were awarded points on their performance.

Makita Rescue Tools from Vimpex have helped Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue to be crowned champions at the recent World Extrication Challenge held in New Zealand.

Teams from all over the world competed in three challenging extrication scenarios. Realistic crash situations were created with vehicles and casualties. The teams had to rescue the trapped casualties safely and were awarded points on their performance. This year Royal Berkshire were announced as world champions after coming 1^st, 2^nd and 4^th in the three exercises. They were also awarded Best Team Leader, 2^nd place for Best Medic and 3^rd place for Technical Ability.
