Plastisol BV Plastisol is world market leader in the production of glass-fibre reinforced polyester bodies for in particular fire fighting and other rescue vehicles. With over 30 years of experience Plastisol can supply almost any superstructure to customer specifications, while design, construction and production take place entirely on our own account. Plastisol, founded in 1973, is a true family business that initially started with the production of water and foam tanks. In 1985 Rob Walraven, the present owner and managing director, took over the business from his father. His vision was to specialize in the field of fire engines and the further development of complete bodies, cabs and cab extensions. Since then the emphasis has also shifted to exporting products, resulting in the fact that currently over 90% of all Plastisol products are exported all over the world, with a Dutch home market share of over 50%. The principal establishment in Wanroij, in the south of the Netherlands, currently numbers 125 employees. Here bodies, superstructures and tanks are designed, developed, constructed and produced. The products made from glass-fibre reinforced polyester are sold to an ever expanding market. Besides fire brigades and airports the composite products are also used by defence, ambulance and police services and increasingly for commercial purposes like busses, market vehicles and multifunctional containers. In 1993 Plastisol\?s high quality level was acknowledged by the ISO 9001 certificate, later followed by the AQAP 2110 certificate, specifically aimed at producers of goods for military applications. For many years now Plastisol has also been working according to the ISO 14001 environmental regulations. Since the beginning of 2006 Plastisol has an establishment in Cortland (New York) in the USA to be able to better serve the local market. Possible new establishments are under investigation, while the current production facility in Wanroij of approx 12,000m2 will shortly be entirely renovated and expanded.
